Back to the pub for Arthur

Guinness has gone back to the pub for its new television advertising campaign to promote the fact that tickets to this year’s Arthur’s Day go on sale this week.

The event was one of the biggest marketing successes of last year. This year, celebrations are planned at various locations around Ireland and worldwide on Thursday, September 23.

The TV ad, which is called Shadows, was directed by Gavin Kelly and produced by Piranha Bar, a Dublin-based boutique post-production and animation company. It was shot in various outdoor and pub locations in Cork, Dublin and Belfast.

The soundtrack is the song, Pencil Full of Lead, from Paolo Nutini’s album, Sunny Side Up. The campaign, which will run until the end of August, also includes radio, press and outdoor. Visit www.guinness.com/arthursday.
