Two enterprising job hunters in Melbourne have created an interesting strategy for making contacts. Andrew Grinter and Lee Spencer-Michaelsen bought up countless URLs matching carefully chosen executive creative director’s names.
They then mailed mysterious letters directing them to their digital ransom note with the demand to ‘arrange a creative meeting or else the site gets it’.
It gets even better, too. When they were given meetings with the directors they then showed up wearing ski masks, terrifying numerous receptionists along the way. You can watch a video of their exploits here.

You can have iPhone cases that look like cassette tapes, that have fake hands attached, or that look like chocolate bars. But there has never been a cover that smells nice – until now.
Jelly Belly, makers of the humble jelly bean, have invented a secret recipe that can be used to scent iPhone and Blackberry cases with their most popular bean flavours.
Bubblegum, Very Cherry, French Vanilla, Grape and Liqourice are among some of the scents available, and each case is coloured to match the hue of the bean it takes after.
They fit iPhone 4 and 4S models and Blackberry 8520 and 9300 models. They come with a 10g pack of Jelly Belly beans and the camera lens hole is even in the shape of a bean.
They’re tipped to be a Christmas gift hit – you can get yours here.
