Two enterprising job hunters in Melbourne have created an interesting strategy for making contacts. Andrew Grinter and Lee Spencer-Michaelsen bought up countless URLs matching carefully chosen executive creative director’s names.
They then mailed mysterious letters directing them to their digital ransom note with the demand to ‘arrange a creative meeting or else the site gets it’.
It gets even better, too. When they were given meetings with the directors they then showed up wearing ski masks, terrifying numerous receptionists along the way. You can watch a video of their exploits here.

Anyone seeking to hire a public relations graduate should visit www.prstudent.com.
The site, the work of students at the Dublin Institute of Technology’s MA in public relations, showcases students who are shortly to complete their courses, with a picture of each graduate and information about their background and interests. It currently features 46 students, and was revised by students Ali McKeever and Emma Williams.
”This is an innovative and time-efficient way of attracting the attention of an employer,” said course director John Gallagher. ”It gives the employer with a recruitment need an opportunity to see who is available, what are their skills, their range of experience and their professional interests.
