Over €300m spent across NNI
31 March 09

The National Newspapers of Ireland (NNI) reported that almost €314m was spent across NNI's 18 member titles last year. Although overall ad revenue was down on the previous year's figure, the amount spent by agencies on behalf of their clients remained stable at €192m, dropping by just 7 per cent or €14m. Direct advertising fell by 24pc.

Maeve Donovan, NNI chairman and Irish Times managing director, said: ''Agencies now account for more than 60 per cent of our overall advertising revenue, so a decline of more than 7 per cent compared to a much sharper drop in direct revenue is a good sign and very encouraging."
