Rockabill Media signs TV3 as client

Channel 6 founder Michael Murphy has signed TV3 as a first client for his new international rights management, broadcast and digital media consultancy, Rockabill Media.
Murphy will negotiate international content rights on behalf of TV broadcasters and digital content providers. He will also supply consultancy on digital media and strategy for broadcasters.
Channel 6 was founded by Murphy in 2001. Three years later he partnered with Pat Donnelly - raising €14 million in the process - and sold the channel to TV3 in September 2008. Since then, Murphy has overseen the integration of the channel into the TV3 portfolio, where it is now known as 3e.
Rockabill will focus on TV3's digital media strategy, which aims to grow the channel's share of the Irish TV market. Murphy previously worked as Eircom's director of television, and developed its IPTV offering, before setting up a consultancy working in the broadcast sector in Ireland and Europe, which evolved into Channel 6.
