TV ad costs still falling
28 April 09

The British TV ad market will contract by at least 12 per cent this year, according to a global forecast by Zenith Optimedia. Zenith predicted that the British newspaper ad market would be down 14.6 per cent this year and a further 0.2 per cent next year.

Growth of 1.3 per cent will return in 2011. Meanwhile, in Ireland, Mediaworks predicted that advertising costs on RTE TV this month would be about 38 per cent cheaper than in April 2008. As last year's TV costs were also deflationary, this will result in this month's costs being 46 per cent lower than those in April 2007.
