RTE Player ads are "over-priced"

Ads on RTE's new e-Player are over-priced, according to Mediaworks. RTE Player is an online catch-up TV service for people who have broadband access.

Paul Moran of Mediaworks said that, while this was a great innovation for Ireland, it came at a heavy cost. "In current times, would you or your client be happy to pay 735pc more for your TV ad to run online?" he asks.

The rate card cost of an online pre-roll is €55 for every thousand views (CPT), where a TV ad can be bought this month on RTE for a CPT of €7.48.
