Looking for work is a full-time job
12 May 09

Job hunters who have been out of work more than a month are spending over 50pc of their week actively searching for a new job. Finding a job is becoming a job in itself. These results come from research Hudson undertook with candidates at a job seekers' seminar in the Grand Canal Hotel in Dublin.

The research also revealed that 65pc of job seekers were considering career changes given recent redundancies, or given the lack of work in their sector. This was linked with the fact that employers are now looking for up to a 90pc match with the job description, whereas previously this could have been as low as 60pc.
