Late Late's Kenny leaves on a high
12 May 09
Pat Kenny is scoring some of his best audience numbers ever for the Late Late Show as he prepares to depart from the programme.
The Roy Keane interview of May 1 proved a massive draw, with a peak of 947,000 viewers. RTE noted that this had ironically been Kenny's most successful season since taking over the show in 1999. The show has seen viewership figures rise year-on-year for the last three years, coming out recently at a ten-year high of 693,000 viewers on average for the current season. This week Ryan Tubridy was announced as his successor and it was also confirmed that the Saturday night Tubridy Show will not be replaced as part of RTE's cost-cutting measures.
