In praise of... positivity

The latest catchphrase about the economy in the media is about evidence of "green shoots" i.e. small signs of economic recovery that indicate things are on the up. Well, at Mediacontact.ie we want to start a "Green Shoots" campaign of our own.
You may have noticed by reading MediaFlash that we always try to be positive and upbeat. While the economy has been failing we've been busy launching new products and organising a skydive. Our motto here is "it's all good" and we'd like to share the joy with you our readers.
Our "green shoots" campaign is very simple. If you'd like to grow a green shoot of recovery for the economy, do one positive economic gesture per day. So it might be paying somebody on time, sanctioning some much-needed spending you've been stalling on, or bringing your staff out on a 'well done' lunch.
If we all did one "green shoot" act a day, the economy would begin to recover. It is not about talking things up or down, it is about doing the positive things that you, and all of us, have been too scared to do. It is very easy to get paralysed by fear, but that fear is not going to help you, or the economy, to prosper. Imagine the goodwill you'd feel by getting paid on time, or getting that order you've been chasing for months.
If you want to join in we'd love if you would share your "green shoot" gestures with us. Please email them to info@mediacontact.ie and we'll publish them in the next edition.
