The hunt is on for a sponsor to pay €750,000 a year to get their name on the 450 rental bikes about go onto Dublin streets.
The money is being sought as part of the JC Decaux deal with Dublin City Counil to provide the bikes. That deal involves the bus shelter company providing and maintaining the bikes in exchange for use of outdoor advertising space.
The add-on deal now being offered - for a minimum of two years - will get a sponsor's name onto the mudguards and handlebars of the bikes. The bikes will be available from September.
