Oxfam Ireland launch unwrapped Christmas campaign this week
27 October 09

If you're looking for a special gift idea for Christmas this year, why not choose from Oxfam's new Christmas catalogue Unwrapped.

Choosing an Unwrapped gift like a cow or school books means you are giving someone living in poverty in the developing world the chance of a better life.

The gift will go to a family or a community
who need it most. When you buy an Unwrapped gift you receive a gift card, which you can send to friends or family.

Buying a Supergranny for €59, for instance, will help grannies who are looking after children who have lost their parents to AIDS, to keep them in school as well as provide them with access to essential medicines and state support.

Other novel gifts include care for a goat (€35), Fish pond (€399), Village grain bank (€795) and the chance to Champion a Fair Trade craftsperson (€36).

Unwrapped gifts can be purchased online, in your local Oxfam shop, by post and by phone (1850 30 40 55). Find out more about it on www.oxfamireland.org .
