Nielsen takes on ad spend service

The Nielsen Company has taken over the ad spend measurement service previously provided by the Institute of Advertising Practitioners in Ireland (IAPI). Transfer of IAPI's Base system to Nielsen is expected to result in faster and more comprehensive data on advertising spend across TV, radio, press and outdoor, and online services will also be improved. The last Base report was for December 2008, so all spend subsequent to that will be measured by Nielsen.
