THE DATABASE
How many journalist contacts do I have access to?
Our database contains more than 25,000 media contacts across all formats: print, broadcast, television, politics, media services and online.
What are the different types of media organisations that I have access to?
Our database contains: newspapers, political organisations, magazines, national/regional radio, national/regional TV, bloggers, online newspapers, news picture agencies, PR companies, graphic designers, brand management companies and online media agencies.
How often do you update your database?
Our database is updated daily by our MediaHQ research team.
How many media lists can I send a release to?
You can send your release to as many of our media lists as you need, though each release can only be sent to 500 contacts at a time. However you can send as many releases per day as you wish. We would point out that you will have far more success with a targeted campaign than sending out a release to everybody and anybody.
What if I have additional contacts that are not on the MediaHQ media lists?
If you have contacts that you would like available then you can upload them to your profile on MediaHQ, integrate them into your media lists and send your release to them. These contacts will remain private to you.
What kind of thing can I send on MediaHQ?
You can send traditional media releases, social media releases, or PR and communications messages. You should note that no spam will be sent using our site. Any customer who is found to be spamming will be removed immediately.
ORDERS
If I order online, will my details be secure?
Yes. This site is protected by Realex payments. All payments are secure, private and 100% protected.
If I order by phone, do I have to give you my credit card details?
No, you can pay by EFT or by cheque. If you want to pay by credit card, then obviously your card details will be required.
I have just booked a conference place. Is my place secure?
As long as you have paid for it by cheque, EFT, or credit card, and we have received payment, your conference place is secure. Unfortunately until payment is made, we cannot guarantee your place.
I made a mistake on my order. How can I change it?
Give us a call on (01) 473 2050 and we can change it for you.
I ordered the Irish Media Contacts Directory some time ago and it has not arrived yet. What should I do?
If you have paid by cheque or credit card, give us a call on (01) 473 2050 and we can tell you if we received payment and whether your directory has been dispatched. If you have paid by EFT, send us a remittance to info@mediacontact.ie
Do I have to pay in advance for the Irish Media Contacts Directory?
Yes. We do not put books in the post unless we have received payment
MY ACCOUNT
I have forgotten my password. Do I have to set up my account again?
No. You can click the “Forgot your password?” link next to the log-in box, and a new one will be emailed to you.
I have forgotten my username. What should I do?
You can call us on (01) 473 2050 and we will find it for you.
How do I change my password?
Simply log in, and select “My Profile” on the top left-hand corner of the screen. You can then change your password by typing and confirming it. Click save to ensure your password has been changed.
It keeps telling me “Login failed”. Why?
You have entered an incorrect password or username, or you did so at least once. The system automatically freezes once an incorrect password has been entered. Wait 5-10 minutes and re-enter the correct username and password. If the problem persists, call us on (01) 473 2050 and we can change your password/fix the technical problem.
Can you see my password?
No, only you can see your password, your profile is therefore kept private.
How do I add my contact details to my profile?
When you are logged in, click the ‘Settings’ tab and then ‘Social Media Settings’. Here you can fill in all the necessary information of your press office contacts, including phone numbers, photos and social media links.
How do I add social media feeds to my profile?
You can add social media feeds from your company’s Twitter, Facebook, Wordpress, YouTube and Flickr accounts. Click the ‘Settings’ tab and ‘Social Media Settings’. Look for the ‘Add a Social Media Feed’ option. You will then be asked to authorise Mediacontact.ie to use your account.
My release has been removed from the main news page. What should I do?
If your release has been removed from the main news page it may be because there was a problem that we need to fix before it can be re-published. We will contact you to explain the problem if this happens. If you think your release has been taken down in error, then contact us on 01 473 2050 and we will re-publish it for you.
CONTACTS & LISTS
How do I add my own contacts to my MediaHQ profile?
1. Select “My Contacts” from the red toolbar along the top of the screen.
2. Click the “Add a Contact” option to add a single contact or 'Import Contacts' to upload an excel sheet of multiple contacts.
Can I download my own contacts from my profile?
Yes. Any of your own contacts can be downloaded into a spreadsheet.
1. Select “My Contacts” from the toolbar along the top of the screen.
2. Click the “Download contacts” option.
How do I create a list?
1. Select “Lists” from the red toolbar along the top of the screen.
2. Click the “Create list” option.
3. Enter the title of your list and click “Create and search for contacts”. You will automatically be brought to the Search MediaHQ page.
4. To add a contact to your list, click on their profile and select “Add to list” beside the contact . Then simply select your list from the drop down menu and click “Add”.
Where can I view already created lists?
1. Select “Lists” from the red toolbar along the top of the screen.
2. Or when in the 'Lists' tab, click “Lists you might like” to see pre-saved lists.
