The build-up to the Galway races is well and truly underway and already punters are having a flutter what the winning colour of the Best Dressed Lady will be. So far, the females are having a gamble on the winning ensemble to be a neutral white or cream shade, which is the 7/2 favourite with Boylesports.
The bolder colour’s such as pink and purple have also proven popular in the betting and can be backed at 4/1 with the Irish firm. However, the biggest mover (5/1 from 10/1) has been green after one fashion forward punter placed a €500 bet on it being the winning colour at 10/1. The firm have now slashed the odds of Green winning into 5/1.
Meanwhile, Boylesports have opened up a market on the festival attendance. They go even money that over 17,500 race revellers turn up on day one of the festival, while its 5/4 that over 43,000 people show up for Ladies Day.
“The Galway races is as much about the glitz and glamour as it about the racing and draws in ladies from far and wide”, commented Nicola McGeady, Boylesports PR Spokesperson.
“Betting on the colour of the Best Dressed Lady is always popular and so far, the neutral colours are dominating the market. However, that could all change if mother nature isn’t on side!”, she continued.
