Heart Children Ireland launch Cookery Book
Heart Children Ireland, in partnership with their corporate charity partner Certus, has today launched its first cook book to help raise funds for all who are affected by Congenital Heart Defects.
The book, ‘A Taste of Certus’ complied by Certus colleagues, has over one hundred and fifty recipes. Certus colleagues contributed their favourite recipes, many of which have travelled a great distance, along with many well known home grown recipes that have been passed through generations! The book is beautifully illustrated and cooking is made easy with step by step recipes that are easy to follow.
‘A Taste of Certus’, which retails at €10.00, is available to purchase directly from Heart Children Ireland by calling 1850 217 017.
Speaking at the launch, Margaret Rogers, CEO of Heart Children Ireland said; ‘We’re delighted to launch ‘A Taste of Certus’ today. It’s a big deal for us as it’s one of the biggest fundraisers that we’ve ever done. Our aim is to provide practical support for children and adults with congenital heart conditions– such as to providing family support services and, the purchase of much needed life saving equipment. The funds raised from this cook book will help us to do just that.’
Leylie Hayes, Head Chef at Avoca, who launched the book this morning said; ‘I know from our experience in Avoca that people love a cook book with a bit of variety and ‘A Taste of Certus’ does just that. From starters to desserts, the book has a mix of courses along with some wine suggestions and a great selection of Christmas treats. At €10 I think it’s a great Christmas gift.’
