Dublin Airport Authority Releases

The Chief Executive of the Dublin Airport Authority (DAA), Declan Collier, has informed the Board he will not seek to renew his current contract, which ends in early April, and plans to take up the role of Chief Executive Officer, London City Airport.

 “We wish Declan every success in his new role, but are sorry to see him go as the company has been transformed under his stewardship over the past seven years,” commented Peter Barrett, on behalf of the Board of DAA.

“The successful delivery of the investment programme at Dublin Airport, and the opening of Terminal 2 last year in particular, has improved the customer experience and lifted Dublin into the top five airports within its peer group in Europe, according to the latest industry surveys,” Mr Barrett added.

 “I consider myself very fortunate to have had the opportunity of working at DAA during such an exciting and challenging time in its development and with such committed board members, management and staff,” Declan Collier said.

“I wish to thank them for their professionalism and support over the past seven years and also the various ministers and departmental staff we have worked with.”

“Despite the current difficult economic environment, I know that by delivering the facilities required for future growth and by rigorously managing its costs, DAA has a bright future ahead and I wish it every success,” he added.

Mr Collier said that he was looking forward to his new role at London City Airport and to working with the team at London City and with its owners, Global Infrastructure Partners and Highstar Capital.
