Gorta Releases

Ireland is Giddy for Goats

December 12, 2011 11:02 857 views Category: Charity

IRELAND IS GIDDY FOR GOATS!

Gorta is urging people to get their goats quickly this year! The gift of goats is being snapped up by the Irish public, according to sales from Gorta’s Christmas gift campaign. The campaign, which was launched recently, encourages people to buy ethical gifts this Christmas, and give the gift of a lifetime to those who need it most.

Brian Hanratty, Gorta CEO, said, “The gift of a mother and kid goat has always been a firm favourite with the Irish people, and is a continually a top seller of ours. This year has been no different with the goats being well ahead of the pack!”

“At just €35, it is absolutely fantastic value, compared to similar campaigns. When you consider what we would spend that amount on here and what it can do for a family in Africa – the difference is astonishing. This gift can provide a Ugandan family with an excellent source of nutrition for several years”, he added.

Buying the gift of a mother and kid goat provides a family with a nutritious source of milk and cheese, which can also then be sold at market. Furthermore, once old enough the kid will be given to another family who will also benefit greatly from this gift.

To purchase a mother and kid goat, or any of the range Lifetime Gifts drop into one of the ten Gorta shops around the country, call save 1850 808080 or  simply log on to www.gorta.org.
