Sumo drinks and Irish Premature Babies were delighted to collaborate on the Flora Mini Marathon held last Sunday. This year was another great success with especially thanks to Sumo for donating their drinks to the ladies goodie bags, a nice well deserved treat for all those that participated.
“Just want to say a huge thanks to SUMO - Calorie Burning Refreshment for all the supplies they gave the charity over the weekend. Paul generously gave us enough drinks to give out to people at the RDS and also supplied the mini marathon goodie bags! We are delighted to have SUMO come on board with the charity and support a number of our events in the coming months, states Allison Fegan Molloy, Chairperson of the charity.”
Some of Ireland’s smallest and sickest babies have to make a long journey to Neonatal Intensive Care Units which are centres of excellence. Symbolically every step that people took on Sunday whether it was walking or running represented the premature babies and their fight to stay alive, encapsulating what a long and hard journey these babies travel and the imprint that they make on people’s lives.
“What a great way to lose weight, drink a can of Sumo and do the 10k mini marathon, also helping out Irish Premature Babies all at the same time. Sumo is a no sugar, non carbonated, diabetic safe, 2.5 kcal’s per can & burns kcal’s quickly for 3 hours. Available at Centra & Supervalu Supermarkets nation- wide, the weight is over” says Paul Mc Guinness – Head of Sumo Ireland.

Irish Premature Babies represents the 4,500 Irish families affected annually by premature birth and the 500 babies that die every year as a result of their early arrival into the world.
We are Ireland's only charity that looks after the families of these very special babies, and we also help and purchase vital life saving equipment for the Intensive Care Units and increase awareness of the wonderful work that do saving thousands of babies every year. We advocate for and practically assist parents who are going through very difficult times with their little ones with work being done on ground level but also trying to instigate change at a National and European level.
