Bluebird Care Announces National Job Creation Plan

Homecare provider Bluebird Care has announced the creation of 510 new jobs across the country.

The positions will come on stream over the next six months and will be open to care assistants and support workers nationwide.

Operations Director with Bluebird Care Eddie O Toole says, “We currently employ just short of 800 people nationwide. The creation of a further 510 positions will help us fill the increased demand for home care services in Ireland. A recent report by the Carer’s Association suggests that in order to manage the current carer to cared-for population ratios, Ireland will need an additional 44,289 carers by 2021.

We have an exceptional team who are committed to delivering first-class care. In the current economic climate we are delighted to be able to create these news jobs,” says Eddie O’Toole.

Bluebird Care is a franchise operation and was set up in Ireland in 2007 with one office. It now has 18 offices nationwide with franchises due to come on stream in Wexford, Westmeath, Longford and Roscommon in the coming months, giving it a full nationwide presence.

Bluebird Care currently serves the counties of, Dublin, Limerick, Cork, Tipperary, Sligo, Mayo, Galway, Kerry, Wicklow, Donegal, Leitrim, Waterford, Kilkenny, Carlow, Cavan, Monaghan, Louth, Meath, Clare, Kildare, Laois and Offaly.

Positions will be advertised on www.bluebirdcare.ie and on FAS.ie in the coming weeks.
