Kavanagh's SuperValu Clifden Rally Towards €10,000 for Cancer Care West

Staff, customers and community of Kavanagh's SuperValu Clifden are rallying towards their €10,000 goal in aid of Cancer Care West, having this week announced an impressive total of €4,980 raised after two very successful fundraisers.

As part of their “Help Us to Help Others” campaign launched in April this year, staff and management teamed up and took to the catwalk for the Kavanagh's SuperValu “Worn Once Loved Always” Fashion Fundraiser in the Station House Hotel, Clifden at the end of July and then in August  a very successful Irish night with Auction at Claddaghduff Hall.

The Station House Hotel was transformed into all things fashion as staff, management and family members modelled clothes so generously donated to Kavanagh's SuperValu by staff, customers and community and pieced together by creative fashionista Rachel Scullion showcasing everything from day wear, evening wear and concluding with a wedding display.

It was described as a “great night enjoyed by all” with campaign ambassador TV3's Noel Cunningham acting as MC for the night, charming and entertaining the crowd, auctioning off SuperValu's finest and fittest in an exclusive Handy Man Auction as well as raffling off fantastic prizes generously donated by local sponsors, followed by great music and entertainment provided by Mike O’Malley, Tara Mccoy, Zoe Birchmore, Aisling Canavan, John Joyce, Macdara Curran, Una Joyce, Ronan Nee, Leah O'Malley & Jade Flaherty.

Speaking at the event, Joe Lynch, Manager of Kavangh's SuperValu Clifden says, “Touching the lives of many families throughout the West of Ireland, Cancer Care West not only provide a "Home away from Home" during difficult times but also dedicate to providing support to anyone affected by a cancer diagnosis in a safe, nurturing and accessible environment”

“We are honoured to work towards benefiting this very worthy cause and we are heartened by the fantastic response and the dedicated involvement from both the staff and community in our Help Us to Help Others campaign. Thank you to all of you who have come along tonight and to all of you involved in making our events a great success”

The Auction night in Claddaghduff was also a great success, music on the night was provided by Paddy Newman, Mairtin Conroy, John Joyce and Mike O'Malley. Many Thanks to all of the local community who baked for the event, the support has being fantastic and very much appreciated and the amount of prizes on the night was fantastic, hopefully giving back to the community a little something for all of the support that they have shown.
